ELYSE CLAIRE LODERMEIER

-is a multi-disciplinary artist currently located in Saint Paul, MN. They received their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a concentration in painting and a minor in art history from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2020. Between 2022 to the summer of 2026 Lodermeier was a part of Public Functionary as a community studio artist and volunteer. They are currently establishing a home studio practice and exploring multimedia work using beads and textiles.

Creating art acts as a form of translation and reflection to Lodermeier as she navigates her personal relationship with the world through the lens of her own Korean diaspora. In the process of searching for the nameable in identity, Lodermeier creates paintings and mixed media pieces that honor the fleeting parts of existence and the spaces that moments and experiences are created within. Lodermeier’s practice acts as journal entries that reflect and attempt to make sense of the constant cycles of grief, gratitude, and constant wandering within life.
